The last few months have been pretty tough. The pandemic has meant seeing family a lot less. And the impact of this is that in September my mother-in-law was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She was given 6 months to a year. And she passed away last month. On my birthday. So what time we had was limited by the need to ensure we were not putting her at risk, plus she does not live locally. In some ways that distance made her passing easy. In other ways harder. Her funeral was last week, and now my partner is left with dealing with her estate.
My new job trundles along as I research one project, try and get another off the ground, and learn some new things. Mainly Vue.js, and AWS. Both have been good fun learning, so I can build websites and serverless applications that exist in the cloud. Just a case of having a bigger project to work on.
In the freelance world, CYBR issue 2, the first issue I wrote for 3 years ago, is now out in its rebooted form. This includes some new articles, updates on old ones, plus my article on quantum computing.
While I wait to start on some new writing projects I am putting down the last few bits for The Ahriman Contract for the Storytellers Vault, and then that can go into layout.
On the streaming front, we started a new series about Chronicles of Darkness, with the first guest, Sam Young, talking about Vampire the Requiem, and we also streamed a one-shot of Wrath and Glory.
